On April 15, Congresswoman Scanlon attended the annual event hosted by the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union Foundation, celebrating local educational and nonprofit achievements. She specifically highlighted the success of Strath Haven High School, noting, “Great to celebrate outstanding students, teachers, and local nonprofits at @FMFCUFoundation’s annual celebration—including @Strath_Haven_HS, our Delco Hi-Q champs who went on to win the 2025 national championship!” This acknowledgment underscored the commendable accomplishments within her constituency.

A few days later, on April 17, she voiced her concerns regarding new legislation, asserting, “The SAVE Act would be bad news for voters.” Her comment suggests a critical stance on the proposed legislation, highlighting potential ramifications for the electorate.

Additionally, on April 17, Scanlon made another statement emphasizing her support for regional public transportation. She stated, “SEPTA is pivotal to the daily lives and livelihoods of Delaware County residents. I stand in solidarity with @SenTimKearney, @RepKazeem, state and local leaders, labor, advocates, and community members in calling upon the state legislature to fully fund SEPTA.” By rallying support, she advocates for securing necessary funding to sustain such crucial infrastructure.

Mary Gay Scanlon, born in Watertown, New York in 1959, has served in the U.S. Congress since 2018. She graduated from Colgate University in 1980 and the University of Pennsylvania in 1984, residing in Swarthmore.
