Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon, who represents Pennsylvania’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on November 13, 2025, addressing both community events and national policy issues.

In one post from November 13, Scanlon described her participation in a public demonstration: “I was honored to join the prayer vigil and procession organized outside ICE’s Philadelphia field office, organized as part of a national day of public witness to the dignity of migrants and to celebrate the feast day of St. Frances Cabrini, the patron saint of immigrants.”

Later that same day, Scanlon commented on healthcare policy changes under Speaker Johnson: “But @SpeakerJohnson said he already had ‘notebooks of ideas….’ Now 15 million Americans are about to lose healthcare, and millions more are about to see their premiums skyrocket.”

In a subsequent tweet posted minutes later, she questioned transparency regarding certain documents: “And in which one of those compartments is he keeping the Epstein files?”

Scanlon has represented Pennsylvania’s 5th district since 2018 after succeeding Pat Meehan. She was born in Watertown, New York in 1959 and currently resides in Swarthmore. Her academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree from Colgate University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania.
