On November 12, 2025, Scanlon addressed the issue of healthcare coverage, writing: “While 15 million Americans are about to lose healthcare, because the refuse to extend the ACA tax credits. Disgraceful.” That same evening, she provided an update related to congressional proceedings: “My statement on tonight’s spending bill vote:”
The following day, November 13, Scanlon commented on remarks attributed to Speaker Johnson regarding Senate actions and healthcare policy: “Speaker ‘I can’t commit to preventing Senators from collecting millions of taxpayers dollars or extending ACA tax credits to save healthcare for Americans’ Johnson”
Mary Gay Scanlon has served as a member of Congress since 2018 after succeeding Pat Meehan. She was born in Watertown, New York in 1959 and currently resides in Swarthmore. Scanlon holds a BA from Colgate University and earned her JD from the University of Pennsylvania.
