She stated that they were preoccupied with misrepresenting facts about Medicaid cuts instead of completing essential parts of their bill. She described the situation as “Sloppy and disingenuous.”
Later that day, she commented on fiscal policies by stating that “Fiscal responsibility ≠Adding $3.8 trillion to the deficit.” This tweet highlights her concerns over financial management and budgetary implications.
In another tweet posted shortly after, Scanlon expressed her sorrow over the death of fellow Congressman Gerry Connolly. She remembered him as “a passionate public servant and a fierce advocate for good governance,” offering condolences to his family.
Mary Gay Scanlon was born in Watertown, New York in 1959 and currently resides in Swarthmore. She graduated from Colgate University in 1980 with a BA and earned a JD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1984.
