On April 8, 2025, Scanlon expressed her concerns regarding President Trump’s actions in a tweet. She stated, “President Trump is launching a full-scale attack on the rule of law and the lawyers who seek to uphold it.” Scanlon urged those who have sworn an oath to the Constitution to stand against these efforts which she described as despicable attempts to undermine the rule of law.
On April 9, 2025, Scanlon provided an update via another tweet focusing on the actions of House Republicans. She claimed, “As part of their efforts to distract the American people from their scheme to steal from hardworking families to reward billionaire donors, House Republicans continue to tee up culture war issues.”
Later that day, Scanlon addressed economic issues arising from tariffs in a tweet posted on April 9, 2025. She argued, “Trump’s chaotic tariffs are wreaking havoc on the economy and forcing hardworking Pennsylvanians to pay even more for less.” Scanlon criticized House Republicans for attempting to strip Congress of its authority to intervene and end what she termed as madness resulting from economic policies.
