Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon, representing Pennsylvania’s 5th district, recently shared her views on various issues through a series of tweets. Scanlon has been active in discussing matters that affect her constituents and the broader national landscape.

On February 15, 2025, Scanlon tweeted about participating in a forum with the Delaware County Council. She highlighted efforts to address misinformation related to executive orders impacting the immigrant community. “I was pleased to join @DelcoCouncil for a forum on recent executive orders targeting the immigrant community as we work together to dispel misinformation and make sure that Delco residents know their rights.”

Later that day, Scanlon expressed concerns over reported cuts to the federal workforce by former President Trump and Elon Musk. She specifically pointed out the implications of these cuts on nuclear stockpile management. “More evidence that the Trump/Musk cuts to federal workforce are dangerous and uninformed — they reportedly cut the workers who manage our nuclear stockpiles and systems.”

On February 16, 2025, she commended eight Department of Justice lawyers who resigned rather than execute what they considered unethical directives from the administration. She called for collective action in defense of constitutional principles. “This week, 8 DOJ lawyers resigned rather than carry out unethical orders from the administration. Such acts of courage and character are far too rare in Trump’s DC. We ALL need to stand up for our constitution. I’m in. Are you?”
