Chester Community CS issued the following announcement on Mar. 16.
Last week, a school bus operated by the Upper Darby School District was host to prohibited roughhousing between two CCCS students. As with any prohibited behavior, CCCS promptly addressed the issue with the greatest concern for student safety.
Anyone who has seen the video of this Upper Darby school bus incident knows that it was an unfortunate but minor altercation that ended quickly. What people may not know is that CCCS also reacted quickly to remove one student from bussing altogether, and to reassign the other student to another bus route. The school was also immediately in contact with the families to provide support and assistance.
The insinuation that the school harbors, promotes, or even tolerates violence is untrue and extremely maligning. CCCS has a strict protocol for disciplinary action and a large staff of safety deans and behavioral/emotional specialists. Despite the fact that the bus was operated by Upper Darby School District, CCCS takes the issue extremely seriously and remains steadfast in support of student health, safety, and achievement.
