On February 7, 2025, Scanlon expressed her opposition to actions she perceives as attempts to undermine the Department of Education. She stated: "I won't stand by while President Trump and greedy billionaires plot to illegally dismantle our Department of Education."

Two days later, on February 9, 2025, Scanlon shared her experience visiting Inglis Gardens in Eastwick. She highlighted the community's efforts to support individuals with disabilities: "Great to tour Inglis Gardens in Eastwick to learn more about the community they've created for individuals with disabilities and the services they provide to help residents grow and thrive independently."
