Nearly $63,000 in state grants has been awarded to fire and emergency medical services organizations serving the 160th Legislative District, according to an announcement from Rep. Craig Williams (R-Chester/Delaware).
“Our firefighters and emergency responders serve our communities at every hour and in every condition,” said Williams. “These grants provide direct support for equipment, training and facility needs so local companies can continue protecting our neighbors safely and effectively.”
The funds come from the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program, which was established by the General Assembly to support Pennsylvania’s local emergency response organizations. The program is administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.
Four organizations received funding:
– Bethel Township Hose Company No. 1 (Fire) – $15,724
– Chester Heights Fire Company No. 1 (Fire) – $16,136
– Concordville Fire and Protective Association (EMS) – $15,000
– Concordville Fire and Protective Association (Fire) – $16,136
Grants may be used for facility construction or renovation, equipment purchase or repair, training programs, recruitment and retention efforts, public education initiatives, or debt reduction.
All funding for this program is sourced from slot machine gaming revenue rather than general tax dollars.
“These awards strengthen readiness across our region and help local companies continue providing the high-quality emergency services our communities rely on,” said Williams.
