Rep. Craig Williams announced that Delaware and Chester Counties have been awarded grants for public safety and infrastructure projects through the Local Share Account (LSA) grant program. The Commonwealth Financing Authority issued these grants to support initiatives aimed at improving public spaces, preserving historical landmarks, and enhancing environmental infrastructure.

“These projects reflect a shared commitment to preserving our local heritage, protecting the environment and providing our communities with the infrastructure they need to thrive,” said Williams. He also expressed pride in state support for open space preservation and safety infrastructure upgrades at Cheney University.

The funded projects include:

- Chadds Ford Township received $200,000 for land conservation. This includes the historic Joseph Davis House and a barn once used by artist N.C. Wyeth. Managed by the North American Land Trust, this area will be preserved for public recreation and education.

- Chester Heights Borough was granted $260,000 to acquire 40 acres of land for public recreation. The park aims to address the needs of a population that has grown significantly since 1970.

- Concord Township will use $300,000 for sewage treatment plant upgrades. These improvements aim to prevent algae blooms and enhance water quality.

- Chester County was awarded $667,080 for digital heritage tourism kiosks. These kiosks will help visitors explore battlefields and heritage sites from the American Revolutionary War era.

The LSA funds cover costs related to purchasing, installing kiosks, professional services, and administrative expenses.
